I am a divorced woman. I live with my daughter in Toronto. My ex-husband had OCD and he was taking treatment for it. I know his condition very well. He has suffered a lot because of this. I have seen him checking things repeatedly. At first, I thought he wanted full clarity in whatever he does. But when I observed him carefully I understood that he was repeating the same thing again and again. It really affected his work as well as our family life. I am afraid if OCD is hereditary. Is family history a factor for developing OCD?
These days I have observed similar behaviors in my daughter as well. She has started checking things again and again. She has started following a strict routine. She checks things to confirm that everything is in the perfect order. Checks her stuff all the time to make sure that they are in the same order. I have decided to take her to an OCD treatment in Toronto. Since she is only a teenager is better to go for a therapy?
