Hi,

I would like to know whether I could change the amortization period of a home mortgage. Three years ago, I have secured one and its amortization period was 15 years. But, now I couldn't make the payments according to the plans I had then. So, I want to reduce the monthly amount and increase the period of the mortgage.

Is refinancing a good option to reduce the payments? It is a 3-year variable rate mortgage. So, it is time for me to refinance it now. But, I'm confused about further steps to be taken. I came to read about a professional offering refinancing options and home buyer's mortgage in Alberta. Can I consult them for an advice?

Reply awaited. Thanks in advance!
