Flow and head of circulating water pump

The flow determination of circulating water pump should follow the following principles

(1) When circulating water by-pass filtration is adopted, the maximum hourly water consumption plus by-pass filtration shall be the maximum hourly design water consumption of circulating water pump

(2) When circulating return water bypass filtration is adopted, the maximum hourly water consumption shall be the maximum hourly design water consumption of circulating water pump. Determine the head of circulating water pump. The total head of circulating water pump shall include the sum of the following values.

(1) The elevation difference between the allowable lowest water level elevation (or lowest water pressure elevation) at the water pump suction pipe and the terrain elevation at the most unfavorable point in the system. (Note: the most unfavorable point refers to the highest total head of water pump calculated according to this point)

(2) The required working water pressure at the most unfavorable point.

(3) Head loss of water pump suction and discharge pipes (including system pipes).

(4) The sum of head loss plus suction height and steam partial pressure of suction pipe shall be less than the allowable suction height provided by pump sample.
