Randomly saw RuneScape gold pop up on the android program shop and reminded me RuneScape exists. I have heard pieces about it over time, but looks like it's still going on strong. What kind of MMO is this? What's RuneScape like right now? At first it sort of reminds me of Ultima Online with better graphics, is that accurate? A buddy of mine and I are searching to play that offers great co-op experience. Neither of us have played with Runescape. For can you'sell' me on RuneScape? Interesting parts things that may not be common understanding of things and features you can perform in RuneScape, etc?

Runescape is a game that is superb. Its quests are somewhat different than every other MMO I've played. Training stats constantly unlocks upgrades, and on RS3, grinding is not too bad. You may quite literally NEVER run out of things to do. There are normal, ironman multiple modes you can play, or even hardcore ironman. A normal account does not have any restrictions, an ironman can't trade with RuneScape players, and a hardcore cannot trade and has 1 lifetime. They aren't that poor, although most people would say the biggest drawback is that the microtransactions. They act as a daily increase to experience. Highly recommend.

The things which could differ from other mmo's is that you move with your mouse, what's tile based and your actions are tied to the tickrate of RuneScape. These are the worst things about RuneScape when comparing it. Theres also a lot of microtransactions however there are mmo's that do it far worse than rs does and you can totally ignore them in which you simply use the free items they give as it would be rather silly to not use free stuff just given to you. Its graphically somewhat outdated so you are probably somewhat less likely to spend a lot on microtransactions for items.

As for some good things about RuneScape I'd say theres a great deal to do along with my favourite thing about RuneScape is that it's things outside of just fighting stuff to fight additional stuff to do. Theres 28 abilities in complete of which 8 or 9 are combat skills (depending how you specify combat skill). For group actions to perform co-op stuff with a friend theres an unbelievable number of stuff to do starting from combat actions like bossing and elite dungeons into an entire ability you'll be able to train doing together (dungeoneering) where you go through a dungeon to defeat a boss at the end. Theres things like co-op slayer which lets you perform the slayer skill where you get given a job to perform'x' amount of monster kills.

There are also tons of miniquests you can perform together but they are grouped articles most of the time as well and can be hard to locate people to do with depending on the minigame and time. You'll also be spending a significant quantity of time grinding skills up to a place where you can do most stuff if you're new and don't know where to get started with but that may be fixed by requesting more experienced RuneScape players in addition to looking things up on guides on youtube or the amazing wiki that RuneScape has (probably the best preserved wiki in any mmo out there). It is hard to go in detail about lots of those things in RuneScape and its own weaknesses and strenghts but overall its a game that holds up adequate and can be incredibly fun with the right people to play with.

RuneScape also has free-to-play so don't hesitate to generate a character and start trying it. The tutorial part of RuneScape has always been sort of weak but you can get over that barrier pretty quickly to buy OSRS GP and I would highly suggest going through configurations and customising your port as the default interface interface is oretty unideal. If you feel the camera is a bit off in the beginning theres different camera modes in the configurations as well. I really don't know what I would actually say to somebody who wishes to try out RuneScape but in case you have any questions you are always free to inquire.
