Hi all,

I got married 7 years back and in 2014, we bought a home with a joint mortgage. It was a 15 year open end mortgage having a fixed rate. We continued to pay back the monthly amount together and it's major part was contributed by him. Now, we are going through the hardest part of our life. We realized that a life together won't help us to stay happy. So, we are moving for divorce and I am worried about how to move on after divorce.

And I am more concerned about the mortgage payments. Either we could sell the home or one of us should take the responsibility of the remaining payments. My financial status is not favorable to afford that much. So, my plan is to sell the home and I am not sure about his interest in selling it. Is there any legal option to sell the home, even if he is against it? I don't know if it is possible and I searched on the internet to find a solution. Then, I came across a broker offering home mortgage in Ontario. But, I couldn't find anything related to my situation there. Can you suggest me something which would help me here? Waiting for your response. Thank you.
