Crafted from recycled materials, the
Comfortable Shoes boasts a clean white leather upper with hits of lime green throughout. The iconic character’s name, “Kermit,” can be found on the lateral, replacing the original “Stan Smith” branding. Rounding out the style is the Kermit illustration placed towards the rear and part of the muppet’s signature catchphrase, “It’s not easy being green,” on the heel tabs. Take a closer look at adidas’ latest offering in the gallery above.
In celebration of this milestone,
Adidas White has announced that the Stan Smith will be produced out of 100 percent eco-friendly materials moving forward. With the silhouette turning 50 next year, the 2021 Stan Smith’s upper will be constructed out of recycled polyester. Additionally, the design will come with premium PU coating sourced from Japan. Rounding out the style are the outsoles made from recycled rubber and the lacing system crafted from recycled fabric. Take a look at the new pair above featuring the original white and green colorway.
For its latest ensemble, the
thepickjoy iconic tennis shoe indulges in a simple “Cloud White/Halo Ivory/Cloud White” colorway. Hand-drawn graphics on the heel, however, keep the proposition from being entirely tonal. Arrow, globe and flower motifs adorn the trefoil logo-donning area, delivering both colorful contrast and a makeup reminiscent of Sean Wotherspoon‘s SUPEREARTH collaborations with the Three Stripes. Underfoot, sole units revert to a tried-and-proven “Cloud White” scheme.
Compared to another already-unveiled Kermit
Adidas Stan Smith Keith Haring Crystal White/Orange, this one is a much less subtle tribute to the character. The pair makes a bold statement with graphics of no other than Kermit the Frog striking varying poses and expressions covering the smooth white leather body and tongue. “Being green” is printed on the heel tab, as a nod to one of the amphibian’s most iconic quotes. Similar to the rest of the collection, at least 40 percent of the construction is made of recycled materials.
