"Giovanni's Room" tells the story of a man who moved to Paris and his relationship with another man named Giovanni. This book is so important because it was one of the first to really show the complex ways in which gay men had to manage their identity, themselves, and their place in a world that didn't want them to exist. The story is set in Paris, but you don't have to be in Paris to feel a connection to Giovanni, his bedroom and everything that happens to the main characters, David. This excellent novel has long been recommended to me by many of my friends from https://taimi.com/us-dat...ana/anaconda/transgender , but somehow never got around to this book. And when I did, I read it in a few hours because I just couldn't tear myself away from its contents.
