Inspiration can be a difficult moment to pinpoint, but artistic director Massimo Nicosia insists that he began designing Pringle of Scotland’s new collection way back in 1985. It was then that he first saw the film A Room With a View, and spent his time glossing over music magazines. Both of these influences have come together in the brand’s SS17 line, one that has both attitude and grace. NIKE ELASTICO FINALE III STREET TF The prominence of navy-stripes on knee-length military jackets and cashmere sweaters immediately evoke the refinery of the collection’s filmic inspiration, one that takes place during England’s proper Edwardian era. But the iconoclastic emblems of 1980s indie rock are far more noticeable, such as the Polo shirts styled over T-shirts and bleached denim jeans. But regardless of the era it calls to mind, Pringle of Scotland’s latest offering blends elements of nostalgia into something entirely new, a quality that is inherently of the here and now. The running team, TEAM GIRA, of Undercover‘s Jun Takahashi is back with their new Fall 2012 FOROURS Collection. The casual running inspired gear consists of mostly t-shirts, NIKE ELASTICO PRO III IC yet also introduces sweat shorts and hoodies, as well as tote bags for the coming season. Jun Takashi worked with a couple of fellow Japanese designers on the new range. Both TET from WTAPS and Sk8thing contributed t-shirt designs for the Fall 2012 Collection.
