First, the Detroit Lions have signed former AAF cornerback Jamar Summers.After playing at UConn in college, Summers went undrafted in 2018 but signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He did not end up making their squad, but soon found a job with the Alliance of American Football, playing for the Birmingham Iron. In eight games, Summers tallied three interceptions and 20 total tackles in the AAF. His solid play earned him another shot in the NFL, when the Miami Dolphins signed him Kerryon Johnson Jersey , but he would be waived just before the start of training camp. At 6-foot-1, he’s not quite the big, long-armed corner the Lions have sought out recently, but he does have some desired physical attributes:To make room for Summers, the Lions have released veteran cornerback Marcus Cooper Sr. Cooper was a dark-horse candidate to challenge for a spot on the Lions’ outside corner depth, but much of his progress in training camp was stunted by an injury, causing him to miss over a week’s worth of work.
