A rumor shows that the new World of Warcraft update will take players into the realm of death in the upcoming Shadowlands expansion. Shadowlands will wrap up the battle of Azeroth as both factions will unite in an attempt to defeat the greater evil threat of The Old Gods and The Void Lords.

The Shadowlands expansion for World of Warcraft was revealed during the opening ceremony at BlizzCon 2019 with a cinematic trailer beginning with Sylvanas returning to the Icecrown Citadel. PC Gamer noticed that a key feature of Shadowlands will be choosing a covenant and aligning with one of the several factions to make a home. In Shadowlands, players will go to the afterlife in the Warcraft universe and encounter characters from the series past. New dungeons and raids are set to be added in the Shadowlands expansion which include the Tower of the damned.

Shadowlands is set to be the eighth expansion to World of Warcraft, with the game now existing in two states since Blizzard released World of Warcraft Classic, which recreates the game as it was prior to any expansions being released.
