Hello all,
My name is Alice Porter and I'm in the process of going through a divorce, I'm originally from South East Asia and have gained British Citizenship as my (soon to be) ex husband is a British Citizen. My question is about British Citizenship and whether or not I am going to lose my right to be in this country if I get a divorce?

I have lived and worked in this country for over 5 years now and feel as though it is my home, I'm not sure whether or not my citizenship status is going to change because of the divorce, or whether it is something that stays because I have been here for an extended period of time.
I have been doing some research of my own and it seems that I could choose the option of applying for British naturalisation which will allow me to become a British citizen, but as I have gained citizenship from marriage, I'm unsure as to how this will play out.

Anybody who has gone through this and can recommend a process or anything that can be changed to help me to remain in this country would be brilliant.
