I've been dating a wonderful man for the last year. My only problem is he has a child that I cannot stand to be around for any length of time. It's not that the child is a bad kid, it's just my boyfriend is a weekend dad and caters to the child's every whim. The child is almost a tween and is so dependent on my bf. My bf treats the child as if they're a two year old. The child seeks out attention constantly when we are together. Don't get me wrong it sounds like I'm jealous of the child, but I'm not. I have children myself and mine take up my attention too. We just have different parenting styles. For instance (again the child is almost 12) I've seen my bf hand feed this kid at dinner, still cuts up his meat, lets him sleep with him at night, cuddles on the couch and lets the kid kiss and lick on him. Caudles the child constantly. I think there should be limits set here. Am I wrong, if so please someone tell me. My children despise him, so that's an entirely different topic. I hate myself for disliking this child but I love the child's father.
